Well, last Friday’s Anthem stream turned out to be quite useful, they still showed us new gameplay – and finally from the perspective of Storm, and not Colossus and Ranger. By the way, on November 1, Mike Gamble and Ben Irving promise to continue in the same spirit and show the game for Interceptor and Storm.
There is no recording left on the official channel, but it was almost immediately re-posted on YouTube, so we have something to refer to when analyzing. Unfortunately, the presenters did not notice the problem with the sound and corrected it right away, but they didn’t say anything particularly interesting at that time. Several bugs were also very noticeable in the stream – the developers almost immediately confirmed that these were problems with the alpha version and this particular build of the game. For example, there is no voice acting for our characters, Storm’s cloak was motionless throughout the entire mission, and Colossus’s shield was superimposed on his armor. And according to Mark Darragh’s tweet, the graphics settings were mistakenly left low, so there’s no talk of downgrading. After the stream, the developers shared a comparison of low and high settings on discord.
So, we were shown a new mission – more precisely, only its first part, so as not to reveal too much of the plot. An agent of Corvus named Tassin approached the Freelancer with a request to find the archologist Matthias Sumner, who disappeared during an expedition to study the ruins outside the Fort. Our oracle Owen tracked a signal from the archologists’ camp, following this signal players must fly through certain points – these rings are part of the mission and cannot be turned off, Owen projects them to us.
What you should pay attention to (follow the timestamp links in the video):
[7:50] – you can take a closer look at grabbits, representatives of the local fauna. The game does not require you to fly directly on a mission, so the presenters took a brief break from the mission to hunt.
[8:42] — Interceptor used an acid attack. Judging by the fact that it was not immediately obvious to the presenters whose attack it was, the Ranger may have a grenade with a similar effect.
[10:39] – The storm flies over bookmakersnotongamstop.co.uk the water and an icon appears indicating that the javelin’s engines are cooling.
[12:25] – and here, due to overheating, Storm is forced to land.
[13:30] – lootbox box with loot. Each player gets their own loot, so you won’t be able to accidentally steal someone else’s.
[13:52] – here and further in the stream you can see a golden dome (here it is on the right side of the screen, players pass by it), this is a temporary Landmark marker ©
[14:20] – emote icons are visible in the lower left part of the screen, Storm shows one of them.
[15:40] – Storm’s ultimate ability, using all three elements.
[25:21] – Colossus’s ultimate, Howitzer. Shoots single charges as many times as the player manages to fire during the limited time the ability is active.
[26:00] – Colossus shield, it can be used in flight too.
[26:48] – Interceptor’s ult. This is a melee attack using his double-edged daggers. For the duration of the ability, his armor is significantly increased and he can quickly move from enemy to enemy, taking less damage.
[27:51] – Storm’s normal state in battle: he can hover and teleport indefinitely to evade attacks.
[30:40] – Storm’s melee attack (they are unique to all javelins).
The initially promised AMA turned out, as usual, to be a repetition of the same questions that are answered every time from E3 in July, so everyone who followed information about the game can freely skip the middle of the stream, there is nothing new there.
And, of course, we are waiting for a stream from the developers themselves next Thursday, I would like to hope that they will not forget about the graphics, and they will shoot more confidently.
The stream was actually terrible, echo, sergeant grafouni, inappropriate comments and crooked streamers.
